Beginning September 1st, Cupcake DownSouth is going to start offering a new line of alcohol-infused cupcake flavors. After Dark, the name of the new line, is inspired by the success of flavors like the Guinness and Bourbon Pecan cupcakes. The cupcakes will feature alcoholic beverages from breweries and distilleries around the Lowcountry area.
Kristin Cobb, founder of Cupcake DownSouth, explains, “we’ve been really working hard to try to team up with a lot of local suppliers, and there are so many great local breweries and distilleries around that it just made sense.”
But alcohol-infused cupcakes and paired cupcakes is nothing new for us here at Cupcake DownSouth. We have been making specialty cupcakes for events and pairings for years. Since these decadent desserts have been such a hit, we wanted to bring them to the store for all of our customers to enjoy.
“We did pairings with some of the breweries and did events where we made specialty cupcakes with alcohol in them, and people loved them! So, we decided we needed to do a whole line,” says Kristin.
The first cupcake to be rolled out in the new line is Blackberry Mojito. This cupcake will be available in stores beginning September 1st. You can get it any day of the week through September 15th. Following its initial launch, this decadent dessert will go into a weekly rotation.
Beginning September 16th, we’ll have introduce our second flavor in the After Dark line. We won’t tell you what it is now, but know it’s going to be the perfect complement to pizza and football.
