Since Cupcake DownSouth was founded in 2006, we’ve proudly supported scores of non-profits. Giving back isn’t just our way of being “sweet,” it’s an expression of our corporate philosophy.
We’re an active and enthusiastic sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure every year, and we’ve worked to benefit other local non-profits. Below are just a few of the worthy causes we’ve been privileged to serve:
Breast Cancer Research/Race for the Cure/Race for Life
Wings for Kids
Share Our Strength – Great American Bake Sale
The Ronald McDonald House
Charleston Animal Society
Center for Women
MUSC Children’s Hospital
Trident United Methodist
Carolina Homeless veterans
Star Gospel Mission
My Sister’s House
The Dream Center
Washington Soup Kitchen
Boys and Girls Club
Since we bake our cupcakes fresh each day, we’ve also distributed our “yesterday’s cupcakes” every day to children’s homes, charities and other community service events around the Lowcountry and Midlands.
Over the years, we have donated more than a half million cupcakes to many wonderful causes. In fact, so many organizations have come to us that each of our bakeries dedicates several hours of employee time daily to manage the incoming and outgoing orders.
After careful consideration, we’ve decided to streamline this process. As a result, Cupcake’s three bakery locations have created partnerships with local hunger and human services organizations to distribute our donated cupcakes. We hope all will agree that providing a sweet indulgence to those in need is good for everybody involved.
Meanwhile, we remain committed to corporate sponsorships that support children, breast cancer research, and animal welfare. This year’s partnerships are fully committed and we look forward to continuing to support good causes!.
We appreciate all that you and your wonderful organizations do to support the people of Charleston, Mt Pleasant, and Columbia, and all our fantastic customers who help support them as well. Thank you!
